While suffering from insomnia last night I came up with a list of thirteen things I do to get to sleep.
1) Count backwards from 1,000
2) Sing songs in my head
3) Compose letters to people I haven't written in a long time
4) Write a blog at 1am about toilet paper
5) Check my e-mail in case anyone else is up at 1am and decided to write me
6) Watch TV to see if I get tired
7) Think about Christmas
8) Make lists in my head of what Christmas presents I can get for family and friends
9) Mentally compose our family Christmas letter for our cards
10) Check on the kids (find Adelle with her leg stuck between her bed and the wall, remove it and arrange her comfortable in bed)
11) Try to decide what I should make for dinner all week
12) Think about why I am not going to clean the floor this week, because saw dust from projects just keeps getting dragged in anyway
13) relent and take a tylenol PM.
Sadly the last on the list I couldn't do because by the time I got to sleep, around 3am, I would have felt drugged all day today.
